Today is World Water Day, a day to focus our attention on the importance of water. Access to clean, drinkable water is something we often take for granted in Australia. According to the United Nations, more than 2 billion people are currently living in countries that are experiencing excess water stress, which is the classification for when the ecological demand for water is not being met. Staff at Colin Biggers & Paisley have dedicated their last working hour of 2017 to the benefit of women and children escaping family violence.
$12,650 was raised for the Women’s Legal Service in New South Wales, Queensland, Far North Queensland and Victoria after staff donated their final working hour’s wage.
This year our lawyers completed almost 9,000 hours of pro bono work, helping those who are disadvantaged in the community make the justice system work for them. We give them a voice and ensure they are heard.
