On Sunday 14 August, a team from Colin Biggers & Paisley and the Garvan Institute ran the City2Surf to raise funds for local community client the Garvan Research Foundation.
Supported by the Colin Biggers & Paisley Foundation, the team raised an impressive $3,717.00. Solicitor Alinta Briggs was the team’s top fundraiser, raising $453.
The Sun Herald City2Surf Sydney is an annual 14km race from Hyde Park in Sydney’s CBD to the finish at Bondi Beach. It is Sydney’s most popular running event attracting over 80,000 participants each year.
Garvan’s mission is to make significant contributions to medical research that will change the directions of science and medicine and have major impacts on human health. Garvan strives to enhance and develop research programs that combine fundamental science with strong clinical interactions.
All money raised from the City2Surf will go directly to Garvan scientists to continue contributing to knowledge which will ultimately lead to earlier diagnosis, better disease management, new therapies and prevention or cure of a range of diseases.
The Colin Biggers & Paisley Foundation has partnered with the Garvan Institute of Medical Research since 2009. The partnership includes fundraising through various fundraising projects and workplace giving. The partnership also see us provide pro bono legal services.
