SYDNEY OFFICE HOSTS WOMEN'S LEGAL SERVICE NSW'S 2018 BRIGHT SPARK AWARDS

July 26,2018
On Thursday 18 July the Sydney office proudly hosted the Women’s Legal Service NSW Bright Spark Awards to celebrate the achievements and contribution of women in the community legal sector.

The Bright Spark Awards were conceived in 2015 at a time when front line women’s services were facing significant funding cuts and general morale in the community service sector was low. The WLS NSW Foundation wanted to reach out to show appreciation to all those women who work tirelessly to help and inspire others particularly in organisations with limited resources and funding or those working in adverse circumstances.

It was a particularly competitive year. Congratulations to all those who were nominated and to the winners below:

Pro-Bono Project Award Winner: Robyn Ayres

Equal Rights Award Winners: Helen Short, Kate Groves, Michelle Carrig, Petra Ahrens-Murray

Community Service Award Winner: Dulce Muñoz

Advocacy & Reform Award Winner: Amanda El Gazzar

The central objective of the Colin Biggers & Paisley Foundation is to promote and protect the rights of women and children in Australia and abroad. In line with this objective, Women’s Legal Service NSW is a priority community client in New South Wales.
