COLIN BIGGERS & PAISLEY SUPPORTING COMMUNITIES AFFECTED BY THE BUSHFIRES

February 12,2020
An unprecedented bushfire crisis hit Australia at the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020. The fires have had a devastating impact on many communities. The practice and the Colin Biggers & Paisley Foundation is committed to supporting those affected and those still at risk.

Bushfire Appeal

As part of our support to the communities affected by the recent bushfires, the Colin Biggers & Paisley Foundation launched a Bushfire Appeal to help the volunteer firefighters on the frontline who have relentlessly worked to contain the fires and support the people affected.

We are proud to announce that, through the Bushfire Appeal, our people raised $4,933 which has been matched by the practice, totalling $9,866.

The funds raised have been donated in equal parts to the Rural Fire Services in NSW and QLD, and the Country Fire Authority in Victoria. The funds will help support volunteer firefighting brigades with equipment, training and resources to continue their emergency service role.

Foodbank Donations

Additionally, our three offices collected donations for Foodbank. Foodbank is a non for profit distributing food and essentials to bushfire-devastated communities. Sarah Charters in Melbourne, Jayde Gillard in Sydney, and Julia Paino in Brisbane kindly coordinated and delivered the donations.

The Colin Biggers & Paisley Foundation will continue providing pro bono legal support to communities affected by the bushfires.
