Today is the first International Day of Education, a day to reinforce the need for free and compulsory elementary education and recognise it as a human right.
The Colin Biggers & Paisley Foundation has a strategic focus on protecting and promoting the rights of children – particularly, access to education. In 2018,
our partnership with the Castan Centre enabled our practice to support research to inform the Centre’s ground breaking report Improving Educational Outcomes for Children with Disability in Victoria.
We are committed to assisting young people through our work with the
Marrickville Legal Centre and
YouthLaw and to protecting the rights of children around the world via partnerships with international development and aid agencies.
Our youth employment program offers mentoring and work experience to students from diverse backgrounds and through participation in
Boundless and
UNSW’s Aspire we help those facing social disadvantage to understand the importance of education and strive towards their career aspirations.
We look forward to working alongside our community partners this year to assist more young people achieve a quality education.
